Recently, in the fall of 2006 we were involved with the installation of the newest addition to Chicago's collection of public art: The "Agora" by world renowned artist Magdalena Abakanowicz. The "Agora", located at the South end of Grant Park, consists of 106 nine foot tall cast iron figures positioned to simulate a random congregation which motivates the viewer to
contemplate the meaning of the masses. The composition is a gift from Warsaw to its sister city, Chicago. CSOS was involved with the project from the time that the 1,700 lb figures were cast in Poland, to the moment they were dedicated by Abakanowicz, mayor Dailey, and the Chicago Park District on Nov. 16th, 2006. CSOS staff was on site every day throughout the entire installation process to consult and document every phase of the
project.
